More Highlights of week 3!

We are all really improving in our swim skills and are loving using flippers and other cool pool toys! Congrats to all the new deep water swimmers!

We are getting better and better at the balloon breathing excerise in performing arts!

We loved the Dog on Safe demonstration  and learned many tips on dogs and dog safety. Then we got the best treat of all, a visit from the cutest little dog- Lucy!

Ceramics!

Today we learned the technique of building ceramic forms by rolling out coils, or ropes, of clay and joining them together with our fingers. We learned that this method has been used to shape clay into vessels for thousands of years! We also talked about things which are handmade vs machine made and how our finished product doesn't need to look perfect. It's unique - and no two look alike!

Stage Presence- We've GOT IT!

We are loving our time in performing arts! Studying our scripts, showing off our talent, singing, dancing, acting and most important of all making each other laugh. We are learning important concepts and skills. What's an ensemble? Is stage fright normal? How do I project my voice? ... And a whole lot more! We can't wait for our show on July 25th at 2pm. Everyone is welcome!

Drum Roll Please!

This blog post is written by one creative girl herself Chaya Muchnik, age 10.

"Today I really enjoyed the special African drum and dance movement activity. We learned a dance called Gundy which is about fishing. We danced while the other group learned the drum beats and played it while we preformed. Then we switched and they danced the Funga dance which is about welcoming people to the village. These dances and drums come from West Africa. It was so much fun and so cool to learn about rythem and how to use a drum!"
